Collection: SAKAI FISH FARM
Sakai Fish Farm Co., Ltd. | 株式会社阪井養魚場
Mihara, Hiroshima, Japan · More than 120 years of Nishikigoi heritage
Sakai Fish Farm traces its origins to around 1890, when founder Ichiroji Sakai began farming Magoi. Later generations developed the family operation into a specialist Nishikigoi breeding company, combining long-established Japanese bloodlines with scientific breeding, advanced growing methods and precise show preparation.
Breeding identity
The farm is internationally recognised for Gosanke, with particular strength in Kohaku and Taisho Sanshoku (Sanke). Its selection philosophy focuses on powerful and balanced body conformation, refined skin quality, stable beni and sumi, pattern balance, growth potential and long-term development—not colour alone.
Proven at the highest level
According to the farm’s official history, Sakai first won Grand Champion at the All Japan Combined Nishikigoi Show in 2000 and achieved 11 overall Grand Champion titles between 2000 and 2020. This record reflects the consistency of its bloodlines, breeding programme, husbandry and finishing expertise.
